These are my notes about the Japanese language. Most of the information can be found in any textbook; some other is just me trying to make sense of it. I put a lot of effort in the organization of the material so I made it public, in case someone finds it useful, but I am not a Japanese language teacher; I am just a student of Japanese.

This section begins with the writing material taught in Japan to 1st grade children – the kanas and the very first kanjis. Romaji is a crutch in our learning that prevents us from moving forward under the illusion that we can make do without the kanas; this is not really the case, so we will use romaji frequently until we finish the 1st grade kanas and kanjis, but we will use it sparingly afterwards.

The contents are:
